Please enjoy this week’s TDL News!!
On Tuesday, September 26th at 1pm Eastern we have the privilege to welcome Evonne Cook, founder of Clothesline Quilts, to the Textile Design Lab as our guest expert. She’ll be speaking with us about vintage textiles and how she turned her passion for vintage quilts into a thriving business.
Evonne’s journey into the reproduction world began over 25 years ago when she opened a quilt shop. While running her quilt shop, Evonne began to design her own quilting patterns, and then began designing her own fabric collections which consist of reproductions of vintage fabrics and are produced in partnership with P&B Textiles.
Mark your calendars! Our popular Sellable Sketch Group-Study starts on October 2, 2017.
In this course you’ll bring clarity and focus to your collection development process and take the guesswork out of what to design each season by picking appropriate trends for your target market while staying true to your own artistic style.
You’ll also have free access to WGSN, the industry’s leading resource for trends and design direction.
We are delighted to be able to offer something new to the Textile Design Lab community. Michelle is taking a sales trip next month for Pattern Observer Studio and she would love to present the work of TDL members alongside the work of the studio designers.
We are putting out a call to TDL members to create designs for the men’s swim and active markets, and selected designs will be shown as part of the Pattern Observer Studio collection. This is for a mass-market retailer who wants to see hand rendered Hawaiian tropical and conversational patterns for the Spring ’19 season.
Weekly Art Critique
Don’t forget to join us for our live art critique held this THURSDAY at 1 PM Eastern. This is a fun event where Lab members come together to review artwork and ask questions about pattern design, marketing and sales. A registration link will be emailed out early on Thursday morning and a link can also be found in our Weekly Art Critique forum.
